TENS (transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation) and EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) machines may look similar, but they have different uses and work on the body in different ways.

Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS):
Mainly used for pain relief. It targets nerves to reduce the sensation of pain.
Sends low-voltage electrical pulses that block pain signals from reaching the brain and may also stimulate the release of endorphins (natural painkillers).
EMS:
Designed to stimulate muscles for strengthening, conditioning, recovery or rehabilitation. It causes muscle contraction.
Sends stronger electrical pulses that directly contract muscles, mimicking the effects of physical exercise.
